Ear Stapling - New Weight Loss Method?
Ear stapling? What on Earth is that supposed to be? Well it appears to be the latest in losing weight. It does not actually burn fat but what it does is stimulate pressure points that can decrease food cravings. At least that’s what the proponents say. The staple stays in the ear for 12 weeks. The nurse mentioned in the article below does warn that the staple alone will not help you lose weight, you also have to watch what you eat. Well that doesn’t sound promising at all to me…
The latest weight-loss technique is not quite as drastic as stomach stapling, but equally as stomach turning. It’s called ear stapling, and proponents claim the treatment stimulates pressure points that can decrease food and smoking cravings.
Lori Cass, of Westland, said she turned to ear stapling only as a last resort after 15 years of trying diets.
“I am sick of being fat,” Cass said. “Hopefully, this works.”
Cass sat with her hair tucked behind her ears and her hands fidgety in her lap at Euphoria Mind Body Wellness Center in Peters Township earlier this month.

Weight Loss Miracles : Hoodia Gordonii
You’ve probably seen hundreds of advertisements of products promising you to get rid of that excess weight within months. And without much effort as well! The fact is that you do need to exercise and eat healthy to lose weight. There is no miracle cure. Sadly the weight loss companies know many of us are desperate and willing to try pretty much anything to lose weight. I came across this interesting article about the Hoodia Gordonii cactus plant. Hoodia Gordonii is the new trend these days. Grown mostly in South-Africa it was used by Kalahari tribesmen who had to travel long distances and used the plant to reduce their cravings for food.
The quote in the article is very good:
“It’s a fundamental law of the universe. We were not given life to sit on our rear ends, eat twice as many calories as we need and then fix everything with a cactus plant.”
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 18, 2006 — Weight loss product marketers pushing hoodia gordonii can thank the major media outlets for the massive amounts of money they are sucking in from the unsuspecting and naively hopeful public. In November of 2004 CBS News featured a story on 60 minutes about the hoodia gordonii plant and the possibility of it being the cure for obesity. This news piece and several others are being deceptively incorporated into the marketing schemes of various hoodia products.

Weight Loss Triggers
Our mind could use some stimulation to motivate us to lose weight. Your friend saying “You have gained a lot of weight lately, haven’t you?” could be enough to force yourself to ACT. No one likes hearing that you are fat. When my wife thought it was time for me to start losing weight she said some pretty mean things. But I thank her for doing so now, because it did help me to do something about my weight problems. A “trigger moment” is basically a moment that causes you to realise how you really look, or act. A study has shown that this is a very effective way to take action. Here is the article I read that mentioned “triggers”:
If you’re heavy and want to trim down, a comment such as “You’ve gained weight!” could be the best thing you’ve ever heard.
A recent study at the University of Colorado Health Science Center found that most people who lost weight and kept the weight off got started with a so-called “trigger event” or “critical incident.” The catalysts cover the gamut, from medical (a doctor tells you to lose weight), to emotional (someone makes a derogatory comment about your weight) to some wholesale life change (such as a divorce).
Whatever its origin, a trigger is invariably an “aha” moment. It causes you to see yourself as you really are.

Weight loss foods
Just came home from work, checked my email, and then some news sites. I noticed an interesting article about the best weight loss foods. I bet you are interested in reading it as well. It’s basically a list of 20 things you can do to lose fat by changing your eating habits. And no, it’s not as bad as other weight loss advice given, you’ll get to eat plenty of tasty foods. I am going to try including some of their tips in my own diet and see if it has any effect.. if I have the discipline to do so of course.
What you need is a simple plan. Here it is, in just two parts: (1) Make a little more time to run; (2) Concentrate on a handful of dietary changes that, over the course of a year, can produce significant weight-loss results.
Below we’ve listed 20 great diet changes that you’ll find easy to achieve. Many of them will help you cut 100 calories or more from a single serving. Now do the math. Say you eat this particular food or meal three times a week. That’s 100 x 3 x 52, or 15,600 calories saved in a year. Which comes to almost 5 pounds, since you’ll lose one pound for every 3,500 calories cut from your food intake.
Make another food substitution, and you’re up to 10 pounds. Beyond that, the sky’s the limit. Here’s your meal-by-meal planner.

Shopping and weight loss plans
You know the feeling when you go out shopping for food and drinks you need to constantly watch what you put in your buggy. Those cookies might look tasty but the amount of calories will cause you to gain weight instantly. You’ll need to plan ahead when you go shopping. Make a list of things you need and then compare which ones fit into YOUR own weight loss plans. And remember that portion sizes are very important. Less is better, don’t buy 10 steaks and pretend you are not gonna eat most of them in a few days. You know you will. Start with 2 steaks and force yourself to eat small portions. Don’t plan just your dinner, also get good products that you can consume as lunch at work. There are a whole bunch of products these days that are low-fat but satisfy your hunger feeling. One study has shown that people who are hungry when they go shopping tend to buy a lot more products then they really need. Make sure you eat BEFORE going out to shop, you’ll thank yourself.
