Breast cancer linked to weight loss
Another one for the ladies. According to a new scientific study losing weight will actually reduce the risk of breast cancer, in particular after the menopause. This is just one more reason to keep your weight under control! How many more reasons do we need to watch what we eat, and that we get enough exercise? I bet you can extend your life span considerably by living a healthy life. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the US, with over 200,000 occurrences.
Keeping a healthy weight has been linked to lower risks of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and other heart-related disorders. This is the first research to show that staying thin can also protect against breast cancer, said Eliassen, an instructor in medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and Harvard Medical School.
Eliassen’s study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
